A five-day course with optional accreditation by the University of Birmingham
Dates: 9th June, 10th June, 24th June, 6th July & 7th July 2004
What does course cover:
'Working with Community Organisations' is a five-day course, aimed specifically at meeting the needs of managers and staff involved in neighbourhood regeneration. The course covers the meaning of 'community', neighbourhoods or communities? - a review of Government policy, models of, and approached to, working with communities, legal issues for community organisations, community profiling, project development and evaluation.
The course aims to develop practical skills in working with communities and provides opportunities for participants to share good practice - and discuss difficulties. Those completing the programme, who have appropriate experience or qualifications, will have the option of submitting work for assessment to gain 20 credits towards Post-Graduate qualification.
